Realtime Rangefinder using Adjustment-Free Photo-LSI

Abstract

We present a range-image LSI sensor which gives a 24×24 range image with high accuracy at a video frame rate of 33ms/image. A prototype rangefinder system using this LSI was also developed. It can take range images and color intensity images simultaneously. This system can be applied to various tasks such as modeling, human-computer interaction, and inspection. which are difficult to do using only 2D images.
