High resolution method of Bayer arrangement CCD using image-shift

Abstract

We have developed a color still camera using a Bayer arrangement CCD by the application of an image-shift that is of one pixel pitch displacement in a horizontal direction. Because of 2 positional imaging, a simplified an image-shift mechanism and a high speed imaging have been available for our experimental camera. We have improved a resolution and suppressed a color moire, by a new color moire suppression processing that makes use of a correlation with each RGB channel. We have eliminated the difference of light quantity between two images using a simple l-dimensional lowpass filter in a horizontal direction.
