Abstract
Analysis on the degradation of moving images caused by Eye-Trace Integration is carried out on various types of displays. An asymmetric blurring/trailing is found intrinsic to the integration effect. By observing the moving images generated with our evaluation program, it is found that about 50ms rather than 80ms is appropriate for the critical duration of Bloch's law in applying it to the integration. A simulation program of the integration is also built that well reproduces the degraded images perceived by human eyes. It is confirmed that Overdrive is necessary to LCDs even if Blanking method is equipped to improve the moving image quality of them.
