According to the development of bioinformatics, it becomes important to treat protein and DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid) data registered in databases such as the PDB (Protein Data Bank). For understanding of these numerous data, it is convenient to use computer graphic techniques. Although there are many molecular graphics programs for this purpose, generally it is difficult to modify these programs for displaying user-oriented images. Therefore, we tried to develop a new molecular graphics program using the graphics library OpenGL. Here, we present some images generated with this program : the double helical structure of DNAs, the tertiary structure of prion proteins based on α-helices, β-sheets and loops.
