Abstract
In recent years, VR technology is counted on surgery simulator in medicine. The Aim of this study is to develop a rotational acetabular osteotomy (RAO) simulator. In this paper, the impact-breaking of the elastic-plastic body is described. RAO is the surgical operation with cutting hip socket and transrating or rotating it. We assume that bone has elasto-plastic property. Therefore, we simulate to transfer the impact-wave and to break the bone when impacting with elasto-plastic body. We also display the haptic sensation of breaking bone considering user's handling and states of bone. In this experiment, we use spring-mass model, and confirm that this system can display the stress wave propagation and fracture by shock.
