We are developing a next-generation terrestrial broadcasting transmission system for handheld and mobile reception which uses two transmission antennas and two receiving antennas (Multiple-Input Multiple-Output: MIMO) and be able to transmit large capacity contents stably. In the case of MIMO system, channel impulse responses from each transmission antenna to each reception antenna must be estimated. We have studied the estimation method by Walsh coded scattered pilot. This paper describes the computer simulation results of the SFBC-MIMO and the SDM-MIMO transmission system under mobile reception environments. As the result, the SDM-MIMO system reception performance is better than SFBC-MIMO system when the transmission rate is 4bits/Hz or more.
