Various discussion has been made for the causes of recent cases of misconduct of food products. Food manufacturers themselves have established committees to examine the cause of the problem and to plan detailed measures, and the results have been publicized. However, even though the words such as compliance, corporate governance, and CSR are told many times and manuals are revised in detail, problems are still occurring one after another. Ethically essential point is to perform operation of a company from the consumers' standpoint, which is the normal sense of ethics, such as not telling a lie to consumers and explaining consumers clearly. The author believes that the concept of compliance, corporate governance, and CSR should be reviewed being associated with such normal sense of ethics. Research of business ethics should also be focused on this point.
