Abstract
The steady-state and dynamic friction behaviors of pneumatic cylinders are experimentally investigated under various operating conditions. It is shown that three parameters in the modified LuGre model are affected by the pressures in the cylinder chambers and the measured dynamic friction behaviors can well be simulated by the modified LuGre model taking the dependences of the three parameters on the pressures into consideration.
