A case of peripheral pulmonary arterial aneurysm noted on medical examination

Abstract

Peripheral pulmonary arterial aneurysm has rarely been reported and most cases have hemoptysis. A case of asymptomatic solitary peripheral pulmonary arterial aneurysm noted on medical examination is described. The patient was a 56-year-old woman with coin lesion, 4 cm in diameter, at the right hilar region on the chest X-ray film. It was strongly stained on enhanced computed tomography, and pulmonary angiography revealed a mass adjacent to the right A⁴. Operation was performed under the diagnosis of peripheral pulmonary arterial aneurysm. The postoperative course was good.
