Abstract

The purpose of this study is to investigate perspective of their own growth as school teacher, and what learning environments could support their growth. Concretely we conducted a questionnaire to collect the data about teachers' collegiality and their in-service training from 165 primary school teachers, and analyzed their self-recognition to the current state and the relation to attitude toward the future. Main results were as follows: 1) It was found that there were some activities to be thought that "I will also make efforts in the future though I have really put them into practice now". This fact is associated with the characteristic of teachers' work. 2) It was clarified that the colleague was important as the learning environment that support their growth such as collaborative lesson planning and teaching. On one hand, it was suggested that experienced teachers tended to look for trigger of their own development outside their schools.
