Abstract
This paper reviews current status of research and development on special instrumentation sensors and some instruments for high temperature gas-cooled reactors.
Main topics described are high-temperature neutron detectors for the nuclear instrumentation system, high temperature thermocouples for in-core temperature-distribution monitoring, ex-core process sensors for the reactor plant, impurity monitors in helium cooling gas, fuel failure detection method, measurement of fission product plateout and surveillance of reactor components.
