Concentration of fluorine in groundwater and groundwater table at the northern foot of Mt. Fuji

Abstract

Concentration of fluorine in groundwater at the northern foot of Mt. Fuji was investigated. It was estimated that fluorine in groundwater around Lake Kawaguchi derives from Fuji volcano based on distribution of concentration of fluorine in groundwater and geological features. A contour map of groundwater table at the altitude from 800 m to 900 m on the south area of Lake Kawaguchi was investigated. A contour map of groundwater table at the south area of Lake Kawaguchi shows that the slope of groundwater table is about 1/2 to 1/3 that of previous results. The inclination of groundwater table at the south area of Lake Kawaguchi is gentler than that of previous results.
