In the spring of 1968, the deep well in Tuna town was significantly polluted with sea water, We have performed hydrogeological investigation to solve the cause of the sea-water pollution.
The results showed that the sea-water intrusion occurred primarily in the basal conglomerate bed of the Osaka Group through an active fault as a result of over pumping of the deep wells nos.3 and 7.
