Abstract
The groundwater flow modeling will hav e an important role to evaluate environmental issue and water resources management. Using groundwater flow modeling for decision making, a quality assurance will be required. Therefore, the guideline of groundwater flow modeling is required for keeping consistency and transparency. Reviewing on guideline of groundwater flow modeling, many guidelines were established by government or related organization in European countries and United States. Recently, these guidelines provide not only technical issue but also public interactive issue. This means that groundwater flow modeling has an important role for decision making. From these statuses, it is important to use the guideline of groundwater flow modeling in Japan. This paper summarizes the trend of guidelines, main process of groundwater modeling and documentation.
