Abstract

A one-dimensional numerical analysis two-fluid model is applied to an incompressible, isothermal two-phase fluid flow in micro channels for a noble high-throughput fabrication of MEMS devices by using hollow fiber-shaped substrates. A set of constitutive equations of channel-wall and interfacial frictions and one-pressure assumption are adopted into the equations of motion. The benchmark test numerical results of one-dimensional distributions of void fraction, pressure, and two fluid velocities of mono-dispersed slug flows in the channels are presented for evaluating basic performance characteristics of the model in numerical prediction.
