Abstract
To examine the usefulness of our cell exposure system for the evaluation of inflammatory responses, we analyzed the expression of inflammation-related genes in airway epithelial cells exposed to cigarette smoke using the cell exposure system. As a result, the expression change of inflammation-related genes induced by cigarette smoke could be observed in adenocarcinomic human alveolar basal epithelial cells (A549) and human airway epithelia (MucilAirTM). This result shows the usefulness of our cell exposure system for the evaluation of inflammatory responses.
