As a result of advance of IT and globalization of market, offshoring business has expanded its target domain from the manufacturing industry to the service industries. Especially in the IT industry, it is going to expand to BPO (Business Process Outsourcing) from Outsourcing of system development and BPO is going to evolve into KPO (Knowledge Process Outsourcing). It is needless to say that the role China and India have played in this process is large. This session shows first the outline of the offshoring business and the theoretical framework. Then, after reporting the offshoring business and BPO/KPO in India, China and Japan, we will discuss about this evolution as representative corporate strategy in the 21st century.
