Recently, there have been a growing number of communities which aim to establish a brand image as a “Bike-Friendly City". The branding strategy, however, varies depending on the target markets, such as tourists or local residents. This study focused on a branding strategy which targets cycle tourists, and discussed how to develop a cycle tourism information system.
Therefore, in the draft, we will conduct research focusing on bicycle use for residents about the "bicycle city" that is used ambiguously. Specifically, we attempt to reconsider daily use of bicycles, try to clarify the "information on bicycles" needed by residents, and also consider the way local governments disseminate information on bicycles.
