We are faced with a problem to make use of knowledge from experiences in tsunami-stricken area in the Great Tohoku Japan Earthquake. This study examines knowledge formalisation and its problem with implementation through a perspective of knowledge-based management. The aim of knowledge formalisation is to put knowledge in order, clarify knowledge and to simplify knowledge transfer. Formalising knowledge leads to contribution in various areas without reference to the spatial limit.
This research deals with the problem of knowledge formalisation. Knowledge is not information. This paper examines how to formalise knowledge in consideration of traits of knowledge. Some principles for knowledge formalisation are made a study. In addition, difficulties will be pointed out about formalising tacit knowledge.
