Abstract

This research focuses on the impact of communication in the virtual laboratory on students' motivation for the research. A structural equation modeling was constructed using the questionnaire results from 41 students using the virtual laboratory. The students can feel someone close to them even if the virtual laboratory is designed in two rather than three dimensions. This illusion brings active interaction among students. This study demonstrated that this interaction among students generates a feeling of unity as an organization and increases their research motivation. In conclusion, the results suggest that a virtual laboratory can be leveraged as an educational tool even after COVID-19.
