Compared to males with autism spectrum disorders(ASD), females with ASD, which have no intellectual delay and less pronounced symptoms, are more difficult to diagnose despite cognitive and behavioral problems. Therefore, it is often difficult to lead to appropriate medical and welfare support. Behind this, the diagnosis of DSM—5 is based on the typical ASD symptoms in males, so it is possible that the symptoms of ASD in females, which are not typical cases, are overlooked. Therefore, in this paper, we discussed the clinical characteristics of females with ASD and how to treat and support it, based on previous studies and case reports on females with ASD.
