A training curriculum of Kinki polytechnic college application course production electric system technology department is doing a working group learning system. When I observed the group discussion in practice, the brainstorming session did not proceed well. Therefore, in this study, we collected the thought contents before group discussion and analyzed the characteristics and connection of thought elements. As a result, four characteristics were found by analysis.①A group with high work evaluation has a large number of thought elements per person, and is considering a wide range of contents. ②Students are divided in thoughts within the group, and group leaders and members are not communicating. ③A group with high work evaluation has multiple key words and has a complex content. ④The group with higher work evaluation was promoting discussion while linking what the group members are thinking. Based on these results, we developed an educational tool to promote discussion.
