Typically conventional NIR analysis adopts chemometrics way combined with the measurement data to find spectrum peak. In contrast to the conventional method, NIR photonic bandgap fiber measuring system potentially allows to detect these closed spectra directly without chemometric method by using spectral narrowing techniques. In this research, methane (CH4) and ethane (C2H6) are introduced as a measurement mixed gas on a trial basis for the experimental substantiation. NIR absorption spectrum of CH4 and C2H6 will be presented in this paper.
