This paper presents the phase noise improvement of a 2nd harmonic Push-Push oscillator. The Push-Push oscillator consists of two identical sub-oscillators, a common ring resonator, and two microstrip-line resonators. Each microstrip-line resonator is half wavelength long at the fundamental frequency and coupled to the ring resonator. Therefore, the microstrip-line resonators stabilize the resonance field in the ring resonator and consequently reduce the phase noise. A prototype of the proposed Push-Push oscillator is experimentally evaluated, and 5dB phase noise improvement is achieved.
