Photocatalytic Property of TiO₂ Anchored on Porous Alumina Ceramic Support by the Alkoxide Method

Abstract

TiO₂ fine particles were anchored on a porous alumina ceramic support by the alkoxide method under various hydrolysis conditions. The photocatalytic property of the obtained TiO₂ precipitates, such as the photo-oxidation of ethanol, has been investigated. The amount, the dispersibility and the morphology of TiO₂ precipitates on the ceramic support were closely related to the efficiency of the photo-oxidation of ethanol.
