A software called “QTVR ( QuickTime Virtual Reality ) Authoring Studio" was used to represent hydrogen atomic orbitals. Digital still images of the contour surfaces of the orbitals were created using computer graphic techniques. Horizontal 360-degree and vertical 90-degree views were combined to video images frame by frame to give a QTVR object movie. The users are allowed to view the object hydrogen atomic orbital from all sides, giving fully interactive animation as if it was in their hands.
