Tectonic erosion is a process to destroy the frontal geologic units such as acretionary complex and/or granitic basement rocks to transport them into the deep mantle. Are they transported into the deep mantle down to 660 km depth, where they may form a second continent? Do they affect the whole mantle-scale convection and compositional evolution through time, and if so, what kinds of influence can be expected?
