Abstract

In 2023, The International Radiation Protection Association (IRPA) launched a task group on tissue reactions to collect data and organize and analyze issues for the knowledge and understanding of tissue reactions in the lens of the eye, skin, and circulatory system. In 2024, IRPA conducted a questionnaire survey among its member societies to investigate the current status of discussions on tissue reactions in various countries, as well as incident disease cases related to occupational and medical exposure. The Japan Health Physics Society, an IRPA Associate Society, collected opinions widely to summarize the current situation in Japan regarding these issues. This report gives an outline of the Japanese response to the IRPA questionnaire and discusses future perspectives on tissue reactions.
