Abstract

From the perspective of the child's development, family support relationships are essential. Because currently social support for child rearing is inadequate, we are focusing on social support provided by grandmothers. RESEACH FOCUS ON TWO PERSPECTIVES : We are exploring the characteristics of the care provided by grandmothers: 1) Primarily from the perspective of the grandmother's own daughter, a mother of her grandchild 2) Secondarily, from a Grandmother's perspective. FOCUS OF QUESTIONAIRE: 1) Evaluation of grand mothering activities 2) Intensity of grand mothering activities As a result of the statistically reliable analysis of the questionnaire data, we found five factors of a grandmother intensity of involvement in caring for their daughter's children. As follow Daughter's perspective : 1 Mutual approval of grand mothering 2 Daughter's mothering style supported 3 Independent of grand mother 4 Constrained by the grandmother's support 5 Daughter dependent on grandmother Grandmother's perspective : 1 Eager to give any form of support 2 Shares her wisdom 3 Aware of differences between herself and daughter 4 Daughter should follow the grandmother 5 Daughter independent of grandmother In addition, we want to examine mother's (daughter) concerns for the grandmother's child care participation and the grandmother repeatedly in the future.
