Determination of calcium and magnesium in hot springs was carried out by atomic-absorption spectrophotometry. On sample prepared with calcium chloride and magnesium chloride solution, recovery by this method was similar to results by gravimetric and EDTA titrating method. The interference which was observed in case of the determination of the elements in hot spring was prevented by addition of strontium chloride solution (Sr, 2500 ppm).
