Six cases of cerebellar and brainstem tumors for these 2 years were reported. These cases consist of 2 cases of cerebellar vermian tumors, 2 cases of acoustic neurinoma (one of which was Von Recklinhausen's tumor.), a case of metastatic hemispherical cerebellar carcinoma and a case of 4th ventricular ependymoma.
These diagnoses were all ascertained by surgical findings and histopathological examinations, The followings were concluded after otoneurological examinations: 1) there were no specific otoneurological findings characteristic in the tumors of cerebellar vermis, 2) the so-called ‘Bruns-Cushing’ nystagmus was observed in 2 cases, the nystagmus seems to appear in the cerebellopontime angular extramedullar space occupying lesions which are not always acoustic neurinoma but any kind of other tumors, 3) the encountered acoustic neurinoma took chronological clinical courses as described by other reports.
