The effect of disodium cromoglicate (Intal) on nasal attacks due to sea-squirt antigens was evaluated clinically on 12 patients with an occupational nasal allergy. This drug was given through the nostrils using a spray (nasal insufflator) 1 or 3 times daily throughout the period of 1 or 3 months. The nasal application of disodium cromoglicate showed significant effects against nasal attacks due to sea-squirt antigens. The results suggest that disodium cromoglicate applied by nasal insufflation provides a good protection particularly against such a typical type-I allergy.
