Abstract
Acinic cell adenocarcinoma of minor salivary gland origin is a very rare disease. Our patient, a 48-year-old woman, complained of swelling in the left retromolar area and left sore throat. The tumor was removed surgically and examined histologically. Because the tumor was diagnosed as acinic cell adenocarcinoma which had infiltrated the capsule, irradiation therapy was used. Only 27 cases of acinic cell adenocarcinoma of a minor salivary gland have been reported in the literature in Japan.
