This is an epitome of the report of the Investigation Commission dispatched fromJapan Plant Institution by the invitation of Government of Assam State.The object of this Commission was to report to the Government of Assam the project for effective ues of mineral products produced abundantly in Assam such as coal, lime stone and natural gas together with water.Firstly, the opinion of fhe Commission is described on the project of the Government, then two projects of the Commissionfor natural gas utilization which were proposed to the Government are described.The first proposal is the production of polyvinyl chloride as main subject using, as raw material, acetylene derived from natural gas, and the second is to make Synthetic fibre vinylon from fore-mentioned raw material.This paper describes details of these projects.
