Abstract
The charasteristics of the two types of the briquette furnance;the under firing type and the upper one, were tested.The test results show that the efficiency of the furnace depends on the quality of the material used and the structure of the furnace.For example, higher thermal efficiency and lower combustion velocity when the primary air adjusted, are got by the furnace-made of the good thermal insulating material and by the thick wall structure of the furnace.
By the combustion chamber protected from heat loss and by the pre-heated secon-dary air, the CO/CO2+CO ratio in the flue gas of the upper firing type furnace is lower than the under firing type furnace.But because of the higher combustion temperature of the upper firing type furnace, the sulphur fixing ratio of the briquette becomes lower than the under firing type furnace.
