Catalytic combustion burners for heating principally used on natural gas are reviewed from the following view points.
1) Choice of catalysts for complete oxdation
2) Producing of combustion catalysts
3) Progress of catalytic burners
Until now, catalytic burners for natural gas heve not been developed successfully because of lower completeness of combustion of methane.
Hower, recent efforts for improvement of catalysts have contributed to raising combustion efficiency of methane up to that of liquefied petroleum gas.
Accordingly, further developments of catalytic burners will be expected in future.
