We manufactured a small scale downdraft gasifier and operated the Spark Ignition Internal Combustion Engine (SI-ICE) with produced gas (bio-syngas). The effects of composition change on the operating stability was verified. The operating stability got worth with the extension of the initial combustion duration (ICD). So the effects of combustible substance (hydrogen, methane, carbon monoxide) in the bio-syngas on the ICD were considered. For the ICD, the conclusion was made that the increasing of the methane vlume ratio in the combustible substance prolong the ICD.
