Electric vehicles (EVs) are expected to help reduce CO2 emissions in the transportation sector. Many cars are parked on weekdays and weekends, therefore, EVs are suggested for the peak shifting and absorption of solar power. In this study, the power trade potential evaluated using measurements of the number of parked vehicles and solar radiation at the college.
The potential showed greater than the college’s power demand in each case and EVs can make the most of their potential when working on time. Moreover, we showed the college power was net-zero using charged EVs and it is difficult to charge from all of PV power to electric vehicles in part of the morning.
