Abstract
Decision rule for painting the day's run of widgets has been studied under the assumption that a decision-maker is to decide only one color among possible colors to produce. This "widgets problem" is reviewed as an example of applicaiton of the principle of maximum entropy. The purpose of this paper is to complement the problem in the following situations : 1) Cost criterion which has been limited to the shortage cost shall be extended to a function including the holding cost.2) Product mix shall be permissible, i.e., may be painted with several colors a day.3) Correlation of colors which was ignored in the preceding papers shall be reconsidered.
