Abstract

In this paper, a new concept of the high frequency magnetohydrodynamic propulsion (HF MHD) which overcomes the problems for electrolysis of sea water and electrolytic corrosion in the electrode is proposed. The system construction and operation principle are illustrated. The switching characteristics of the resonant phenomenon are analyzed from the view point of switching stress of the switching devices. On the basis of the analysis, the HF MHD system is designed and effectively tested in the water tank. The new principle of HF MFD is supplemented with experimental results.
