Abstract
In 2007, the Technical Standard for Port and Harbor Facilities in Japan was revised and established as the calculation method for the requirement of channel depth and width in the category 2. However, the validation in many existing channels has been remained later. The authors calculated for required channel width and depth based on the above calculation method of category 2 for typical 4 types of vessels in Japanese typical ports. Beside, authors verified the existing approach channel width and depth by above 4 vessel type by calculation method of category 2.
