There is a growing awareness towards fertility issues in women with breast cancer since the publication of clinical guidelines dealing with oncofertility. Although people are likely to be interested in fertility preservation before cancer treatment, the most important aspects of the delivery of oncofertility care are the processes used for decision making and the continuity of support. Based on my experience in developing an oncofertility program, I will discuss the essence of a support system for breast cancer patients with fertility concerns. Multidisciplinary collaboration and dialogue among patients, oncologists and reproductive specialists and institutional / regional networking are critical for providing high-quality care.
