Abstract

This paper focuses on an analysis of a questionnaire on environmental consciousness, understanding and behavior of students at elementary, junior high, high school and university levels. The questionnaire is consisted of four parts “interests and consciousness” “thought and decision” “behavior” and “education” We discovered that all generations are interested in global problems. They think their lifestyle is related to environmental problems and they need to act, however a few students are actually taking actions. Students were classified into four groups according to their environmental consciousness and daily activities. It was found that basic environmental interests are closely related to “interests and consciousness” “thought and decision” “behavior” and “education” Also, acquiring knowledge was related to a student’s positivity. Practical action was related to daily activities. Students who took environmental education show high environmental consciousness. Education is an effective method to acquire interests and consciousness.
