Helical crystals of aspartic acids were generated under diffusion-controlled growth in gel media at ambient condition. The chirality in molecules was perfectly transferred to that in the macroscopic morphologies. The twisted accumulation of tilted unit crystals made up the helical crystals and the molecular recognition played an important role for the stereospecific morphogenesis.
