Abstract
This study attempted to investigate the modern youth's conciousness toward family for the education on "family relations". A questionnaire was sent to students of university, junior college, and high school in Yamaguchi Prefecture. The contents were made up of four sections : family ideology, family evaluation, family recognition, and expectation toward family of procreation. The results on family ideology and family evaluation are reported in this paper. 1. Family ideology was effected by sex, developmental stage, evaluation on family function, and satisfaction with family relations. Sex was the most effective factor. 2. Evaluation on family function, satisfaction with family relation, and image on family atomosphere were related. 3. Family evaluation was effected by the developmental stage and the housing pattern.
