Abstract
A questionnaire survey on cleaning instructions was conducted among elementary school teachers.
Practical activities and hands-on practices were the main focus of the home economics cleaning study,
while the school cleaning instructions were centered on simultaneous instructions during cleaning time.
In all cases, lack of instructional time, human resources, and equipments were cited as problems in
instructions. In terms of innovations in the home economics cleaning study, many respondents mentioned
connecting the study to home and school cleaning practices. In the home economics cleaning study,
there was an awareness of the connection with many subjects, among others. The presence or absence of
teaching experience was also found to affect the understanding of the characteristics of each subject.
