Experimental Investigation of the Gliding Qualities

Abstract

At first, the indices to specify the gliding phenomenon of a submerged vehicle were introduced from the equation of motion of a submarine. Then, the gliding qualities of the circular type submarine were discussed using the indices and the data obtained from the experiments conducted at the towing tank on the 16 series models.
