Abstract
Unilateral blinking is a rare ipsilateral ictal phenomenon that occurs in temporal lobe epilepsy. We herein report a female patient with right lateral temporal epilepsy. She had seizures characterized by right eye blinking followed by right limb automatism. Hyperventilation resulted in the activation of seizures. Interictal EEG showed no epileptiform activity, however, MRI, MEG and IMZ-SPECT suggested a right lateral temporal lesion. MEG spikes progressed in the right precentral gyrus during the seizures. We consider right eye blinking was automatism due to control of the left cerebellar hemisphere associated with activation of the right lateral temporal lesion.
