The Izu Islands Thrush Turdus celaenops has been known to breed from Toshima I.to Aogashima I., Izu Islands, but so far no breeding record existed for Oshima I., northernmost island of the Izu Islands. The author observed singing adults, immature birds and three nests in breeding season between 1983and1992 0n the mountain side above 400m altitude on Oshima I.
