We report a case of spindle cell lipoma in the maxillary alveolar region. A 57-year-old man noticed an asymptomatic mass in the right maxillary region a few years ago before first visit. Thereafter, he visited to our department caused by the enlargement of the mass.
Physical examination revealed the tumorous mass (25×20mm) covered with normal mucosa at the right maxillary alveolar region. Image examination indicated a nonuniform mass without obvious bone resorption in CT images, and a nonuniform high signal mass in T1-, T2-weighted and fat-suppressed T2-weighted MRI images. Histological findings of incisional biopsy suggested lipoma and surgical excision was carried out under general anesthesia. A histopathological diagnosis of spindle cell lipoma was made. No evidence of recurrence was observed for 1 year and 3 months following the operation.
